Creating an SEO strategy can be daunting. Here are some tips and tricks to improve SEO copywriting.
What is SEO Copywriting?
SEO is the practice of optimizing keywords, phrases, and content to traffic people to your website. Your content will determine where your website lands on the Search Engine Result Page (SERP).
SERP is how Google determines which website lands at the top of the search page when using certain words and phrases.
How do I improve my SEO?
Start by forgetting traditional writing skills taught in school. SEO is not essay writing or report writing. Optimize with traditional on-page SEO stuff by being direct and to the point. Create, manage and upload relevant content, like:
1. Blogs and Articles
2. Backlinks to other related websites
3. Improve UX design
4. Improve the speed of the website
5. Share social media channels
6. Content and Community
Don’t forget the Metadata. Metadata is “data that provides information about other data”, but not the content of the data, such as the text of a message or the image itself. Ensure the Metadata and description are filled with keywords and phrases.
Improve the speed of your website. Have you ever pressed back on the browser because a page wouldn’t load? Google notes when this happens, and lowers the website’s SEPR. Make sure you have a fast, presentable, and functional website.
Lastly, eliminate all irrelevant data, keywords, content, and phrases. Yes! There are negative keywords that can ruin your chances of reaching your target audience. Do not confuse Google by uploading irrelevant content that could take you off the course of a good SERP score.
These are some of the basic approaches for getting started. SEO is a crucial part of growing an online platform. As a social media manager, I always prioritize the digital marketing aspect of the business and continue to learn about each sector. I recommend every business learn about how they can improve their digital presence.
